The person behind the work
Mehdi Taifi is the founder and CEO of Zèya, a Miami-based peer-to-peer marketplace. Born in Morocco, he moved to the United States as a teenager and later worked in finance and technology. His experience includes BNY Mellon, Deutsche Bank and an early role at Robinhood, where he worked with the founding team on brokerage operations. He also founded recruitment software company RoleScale. With Zèya, Taifi is applying that background to local exchange and the value held in everyday items. The company announced a $2.45 million strategic growth round structured across milestone-based tranches to support its next stage of development.
The company
Zèya helps people discover nearby items and make offers using goods, money or a combination of both. The marketplace supports swapping, buying, selling and interest-based groups. Its team has introduced AI-assisted listings that create item details from a photo, while its funding announcement identifies AI-powered matching as an area for further development.
